some more polaroids and scarves

I took this polaroid on my stairs. I like how the crazy scarf and jumper look together.

I took this polaroid on my bed. This scarf is so thick and warm.

I took this polaroid in my bedroom. You can see my mirror and dresser in the background.

Polaroids and Scarves

i took this polaroid in my dining room. Ilike the pattern and texture of the scarf against the blue checked shirt.

i took this polaroid in a classroom in college. Charlie was playing on the chairs, wearing this purple scarf so i took the opportunity to photograph him.

i took this polaroid in a kitchen of a party that we went to. The kitchen was small and dirty but Mel and her scarf brighten it up.

I took this polaroid in the hallway of the same party. I like how Summer is holding the ends of the scarf.

i took this polaroid right outside my front door.

Theme

I am inspired by these polaroids by Jonathon leder. I love the lighting and the soft focus. I am going to take some polaroids of people after seeing these.

The theme that I have chosen for this week is; Polaroids and scarves. I have taken polaroids of a selection of my friends wearing various scarves. I wanted to have a continious theme in my poaroids so that this my collection will have a distinctive style, which is why in each one a scarf is being worn to link all the polaroids together. The reason why I have chosen a scarf to be in each image, is because it's a simple garment that comes in many shapes and sizes. There is a huge variety of scarves in the world and I would like to photgraphy diferent types on different people.
Some websites that inspire me and that have some beautiful polaroids;

MY BRIEF;

You are required to produce a BLOG. Posting at least five new images a week. Each image will be posted alongside considered text- the text will state how and why you made the image accompanied by a link to a relevant website.

The subject of your images may be wide ranging and will be chosen by you using the following list - you may use the same starting point from the list as many times as you like:

STUDIO
PEOPLE
BLACK AND WHITE
COLOUR
WORK
LAND

.......................................................................................................................................

I really like how much freedom I have with this project. I am going to use my own starting points and ideas rather than the ones on the brief, so that I can make this project more personal to me and I can photograph what I enjoy and experiment with the styles that I like best.

The inspiration

2nd day back at college

This image was inspired by the front cover of an issue of Vice. It's called the 1994 issue and the front cover consists of multiple images of actress and designer Chloe Sevigny looking like a fun girl.

I made the model in this image look perfectly pale. This was inspired by the vampire look that so many people are in to right now.

This image was inspired by the grid portrait of Kate Moss by Corinne Day. I was also inspired by the look of hollywood glamour and old-school beauty.

This image was inspired by Andy Warhol. i liked his use of colour against black. I chose to have the squares of this image to be wonky and un-evenly sized. This is to represent the artistic and unique sides of the subject. I was also playing on the fact that Warhol's images were un-even.

the half term is over so I'm back in college and have started this project. Yesterday we got a brief called 'studio blog shoot'. I wasn't very pleased with this because we have have been in the studio recently, and I'm not a huge fan of studio photography. I was really looking forward to doing what i wanted so this was a bit of a disappointment. The aim of this brief was to get into groups, research 2 artists and images and decide what to do in studio as a group. Unfortunately I was late for the class so I had a slow start. Another girl in my class, Claire was also late so instead of joining a group, we decided to go together. We decided to research Corinne Day's work because we both like her style of photography. We came up with several ideas such as; doing a shoot with fairy lights, which was inspired by the image of Kate Moss in her apartment surrounded by fairy lights, taken by Day. Unfortunately Claire wasn't in this morning, so we couldn't do our shoot. This doesn't really bother me because I wasn't really looking forward to being in the studio, but I did think that we came up with some good ideas so I would quite like to do it another day and finish our task.

I have been set a new brief for my Photography course. I have been required to produce a blog, posting at least 5 images a week.
We have been given a few starting points, but they are not necessary. I am pleased with the freedom of this project because I enjoy photographing whatever I want and experimenting with my own styles, rather than being told exactly what processes to do. I would like to take images mainly on my holga and polaroid camera. I will also use my pentax because I enjoy the darkroom. I will do a bit of digital photography, but I am more interested in film cameras.
On this blog, I am going to post my current work, some old works, inspiration and things that I like.
